Grandpas, Papas, and Pop Pops

The sweetest thing just happened!
School had just gotten out and one of my students gets picked up by his grandma. When I walked out with him to meet her he said to me, "will you come meet my pop pop?" And his grandma said that he wants you to come meet his grandpa. I said sure not thinking anything of it. As we were walking over grandma asked if he had told me anything about his pop pop. I said no and she said that he is dying of lugericks (not sure how to spell it)  I told her I was sorry and I would be happy to come and meet him. He sat in the car... shook my hand, I asked if he was pop pop and he nodded yes. I realized he wasn't able to talk. I told him that it was nice to meet him. And he got all teary. So of course I did to. Grandma said that he has been wanting to come pick up his grandson and this is the first day that he has had the energy to get out of the house. I started thinking about this little boy and his mental state and that he might not understand when it comes time for his grandpa not to be here any more. Then I started thinking about how much I missed my grandpas. I told this grandpa that I had lost my two grandpas to cancer, and that I know he will be greatly missed because I miss mine! This sweet frail little grandpa sat up in the car and put his arms around me. It was like my grandpas up in heaven were there hugging me too. So sweet! So grateful for the plan of salvation and that I will one day see them again!
